morning. the board is open. it is for people who own pontoons and tritoons, mostly around the lakes out here west of Brainerd and over into the Dakotas, but if you have tubes under you anywhere you are welcome.
three rooms. Pontoon talk is the boat itself, tubes, furniture, gates, covers, how it rides. Outboards, trailers and lifts is everything bolted on or holding it up. Buying and auctions is the money side, and reports in there need the price in them.
four rules and then i will get out of the way.
year, make, model and motor in your first post.
no selling in threads.
if the boat business pays you, say so.
mods move things and will tell you why.
accounts are handed out by hand while the bots are hammering the sign up form. use the contact page, tell me your boat and your lake, and a login comes back, usually inside a day or two.
declaring myself under rule three before anybody has to ask. i run the service counter at a marina here in town, twenty two years of it. i will answer motor and lift questions when the shop is quiet, which between november and march is most of the time.
one ask ann. can rule one also want the tube diameter and whether it has strakes. half the handling questions i get at the counter are people comparing a 25 inch two tube to a 27 inch tritoon and wondering why their friend's boat corners and theirs pushes.
added, tube diameter and strakes on anything to do with handling or speed. i wrote it into the rules list on the about page as well.
five days in and there are sixty some accounts. i had figured on a dozen and most of them my relatives. thank you to whoever dropped the link in the Otter Tail county group.
