Server logs
Pages are served through Cloudflare, which keeps ordinary access logs for a short window: IP address, browser string, the page asked for. That is used to keep the spam and the scrapers off and nothing else. There are no analytics scripts, no ad tags and no social media pixels on any page here.
Fonts
Two typefaces load from Google Fonts, so Google's font servers see the IP address of anyone who opens a page. If that bothers you, a browser extension that blocks the request will leave the site perfectly readable in your system font.
Accounts
Accounts are given out by request. What gets kept is the email address you wrote in from and the username you asked for. No phone number, no address, no boat registration. The member list is never sold, rented or handed to anyone.
Your posts
Posts are public and search engines index them. If you want one edited or pulled, write from the address you registered with and name the thread and the post number. Ann will do it. Quoted pieces of your post inside somebody else's reply stay where they are, because that reply belongs to the member who wrote it.
Cookies
The public pages set no cookie of ours. Cloudflare may set its own security cookie. Logging in sets a session cookie that goes away when you log out.
Children
Accounts are for adults. If a parent tells us a minor registered, the account and the posts come down.
Asking about any of this
Use the contact page. A human answers it, slowly in July.
